Is there any way on how to get your TIN/ Taxpayer Identification Number online in the Philippines? Maybe that question is what you’ve been trying to figure out. If that is the case so, just continue reading our post to learn more about the details on how to go about getting your TIN online.
What is TIN?
All Filipino workers and soon-to-be employees are obliged to get their taxpayer identification number (TIN). The importance of this is that it provides a proper identification of the taxpayer for purposes concerning tax. Your TIN is filed in the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
How to Have TIN from BIR Online?
Unfortunately, getting your TIN online is only applicable to self-employed employees. Usually, if you work for a company, it is your employer herself who is going to apply for the issuance of the number. To start off with the process, follow the tips below:
- Go to the official website of the BIR and scroll down to the page.
- Fill out the boxes by keying in the appropriate information about yourself.
- Check all the data before confirming and hitting the SUBMIT button.
Should you choose to apply for your number personally at the agency, remember to bring with you some requirements such as NSO authenticated birth certificate or other valid IDs which shows complete name, address, and birthdate. A company ID and Certificate of Employment should be brought as well. Go to BIR and accomplished the BIR Form 1901 alongside other documents from your employer. Submit the requirements to the assigned window and pay the annual registration fee. Application for ID can be processed once your TIN no is provided.
Remember that you will only have one TIN in your lifetime. In cases of lost numbers, you can go to BIR and ask them to search for your TIN number on your data base. So there you have it. I hope this post has been of great help!
