3in1 beverages such as instant coffee is a making a trend among Filipinos. The product is cheaper than a usual roasted coffee. This is especially easier and more convenient to prepare especially if we are in a hurry to work or simple just spending time alone or doing certain projects or tasks. Instant coffee is favored among many because of it good taste and quick to prepare. And perhaps we don’t want the hassle of having to dispose of the leftover coffee grounds when making brewed coffee.
But these drinks and cereal preparations are loaded with excessive sugar which brings with it many hidden dangers to our health. Sugar is present in almost every kind of processed food as well as being an accompaniment to beverages at food outlets and at home.The truth is that we get all the energy that we need from our food sources so we really don’t need additional sugar intake from instant coffee. Too much sugar is bad for you a because it has calories, and because if you have diabetes or a diabetes-related condition — lets say high blood fat levels — then having sugar will increase your blood sugar and your triglycerides, which is a risk factor for heart disease. (Triglycerides are a type of fat in the blood.)
Sugar also feeds cancer cells and is related to more than 60 other diseases. It destroys the body in many ways – eroding health, planting disease and ultimately shortening our lives. In short, sugar kills!
