- Fasting Blood Glucose Test – This is the most common type of test to check the glucose level in the blood. A person isn’t supposed to eat anything for 8 hours. Usually, the test is taken in the morning. The normal values for fasting blood sugar is between 70-99 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.5 mmol/L)
- Post-Prandial Glucose Test – This test is scheduled 2 hours after the person has eaten his meal. The normal value for this test should be lower than 140mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L)
- Random Blood Glucose Test – This type of test can actually be taken anytime during the day. The normal level in the blood should be less than 100mg/dL (less than 7.0 mmol/L)
