Maculopapular rash is a compound name derived from the terms “macules” and “papules”.  Macules are described as small and flat spots on the skin’s surface while papules are small and raised lesions which appear red.  Therefore, a maculopapular rash is one which appears flat and reddened on the surface of the skin.

There is a variety of illnesses which causes the occurrence of this spot such as scarlet fever, rubella, dengue hemorrhagic fever, HIV disease.  This is also a symptom of measles alongside morbilliform rash on children.   Apparently, management of this condition is usually different from urticaria treatment as interventions including medication is focused on what causes the rashes in the first place.  If you’re looking for maculopapular rash treatment, here are some you can do.

Treatment for Maculopapular Rash

Only your doctor can advice what kind of treatment you can undergo to get rid of those lesions.  Again, pruritic maculopapular rash treatment involves treating the underlying condition that has caused it.  For instance, in Dengue cases, medical interventions revolve around the use of anti-inflammatory drugs as well as intravenous rehydration or even blood transfusion.  HIV rash, Epstein-Barr virus, measles, and other diseases which consist of this type of rash have a different approach.  The inflammation of the skin will usually go away on its own especially after proper medical intervention.

Home remedies like  application of calamine lotion for itchiness can also be done, however it doesn’t really treat the condition which is why if you suspect that you or your loved one is suffering form this type, it would be better to talk with your doctor immediately to arrange proper treatment plan regarding the condition.  Good luck!
