- Baking soda is another way on how to cure the problem. Do so by adding a small amount of it plus a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Use a nasal syringe and squirt the mixture to your nose. Blow your nose afterwards, but be careful not to blow too hard.
- Avoid consumption of dairy products for the mean time as they can aggravate excessive mucus production more.
- You can also make use of a humidifier thus keeping the nasal passages moist.
- Medicines such as decongestants can also provide a big help in alleviating the condition. Nasal sprays can also be used; however it shouldn’t be used for a long time as it can damage your nasal passages. Others suggest even the use of cough medicine as they say it can cause thinning of the mucus. If the condition is caused by allergens, then antihistamines should be taken.
- Eliminate any allergens which can contribute to the condition more.
